We’re in New York for the week, and I realized I haven’t been posting to the blog at all lately. I know, there are three people who read it, but whatever. I’m here for all three of you. (Sometimes.)
Today’s trip to the Guggenheim:
On exhibit in the rotunda: Christopher Wool. Cool show!
I shot this from the car on the way into the city from JFK. I love the silhouetted stairways in the scaffolding:
Mostly we’ve been walking and eating (it’s what NY is for) with a small bit of shopping. Restaurants we’ve been to so far: Babbo, Ippudo (twice), Red Rooster Harlem. Still to come: Colicchio & Sons for Thanksgiving. We shopped at Eataly for one meal, and will be cooking tonight and tomorrow night as well.
I thought I’d lost this photo. This is the back of the St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square in the New Orleans French Quarter. I took this photo with my iPhone while we were wandering around one night, and then during an import mishap it disappeared. I guess I’d already posted it on our travel blog (Riveted) so at least I was able to retrieve the low res version. Love the mood.
Yesterday we headed up to Mt. Hood to do some hiking in the snow. Weather was not as beautiful as it was a couple weeks ago when we were last up there, but we still got in a nice hike.
The first two shots were taken with the Fuji X100 from the moving car, and the trail shot here is with Kevin’s iPhone. It was snowing pretty good when we started out on the trail so I left the X100 back in the truck.
